“Usu Bridge” to Bolshoy Ussuriysky Island Built in Fuyuan

As Amur Media informs, the construction of а new two way bridge to Bolshoy Ussuriysky Island in the eastern part of China (province Heilunzyan) was completed on September, 27.

The length of the bridge is 6405 m. The design speed is 80 mph.

500 million yuans were invested in the construction of the bridge.

The project of complex development of Bolshoy Ussuriysky Island (2010–2016) was approved by Russian and Chinese government in January, 2011. Many commercial and entertainment objects are being built within this program.

Russia transferred the western part of the island to China in 2008.

The Ussuriysky Island is planned to be connected to both countries (the Russian side in October, 2013, the Chinese side in October, 2012).

Currently, transportation between Khabarovsk and province Heilunzyan is accomplished by means of small cruise ships or hydrofoils.

Transportation and cooperation between two countries is expected to expand significantly in the nearest future.
