Big flood detected on the Amur River due to heavy rains that continue in Amur Region, Jewish Autonomous Region and the Heilongjiang Province of Northeast China since the end of July. It causes destruction of settlements and villages situated on the Russian-Chinese border line.

Nowadays the Amur basin area, including river tributaries, reaches one million square kilometers.

According to the Khabarovsk State Meteorological Agency, on August 15, the water level in the Amur River was 589 cm, and is expected to reach its peak level, 620-650 cm, on August, 18.
