06.11.2013 Sochi 2014 Torch Relay in Khabarovsk

According to the Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games in Russia the Olympic Flame is expected to arrive in Khabarovsk on November, 17.

About 100 people will participate in carrying the Olympic flame along the streets of the city, covering a distance of 27 km. Igniting the cauldron will take place at Lenin Square.

Then the Olympic Torch Relay  is going to move on to Birobidzhan, the capital of Jewish Autonomous Region.

The countdown to the Sochi Winter Olympics opening ceremony has hit the one-hundred-day mark on October 29.

In Russia the relay will travel from Moscow to Sochi through 2,900 towns and villages across all 83 regions of Russia by foot, car, train, plane, and "troika"(the traditional Russian carriage drawn by a team of three horses) for over 65,000 km.

October 15, the Olympic flame in 91 hours overcame the distance from Murmansk to the North Pole on the icebreaker "50 Years of Victory". Besides, the torch will be carried to the International Space Station by a Japanese astronaut, Koichi Wakata, on November 7. The event will become the longest relay in Winter Olympics history.
