03.11.2015 Vladivostok to Get Free Port Status

October 12, the federal law that granted the capital of Primorye free port status came into effect. Thus Vladivostok will become Porto Franco - an area with duty-free entry of foreign goods intended for re-export.

The free trade area will start operating in January 2016 for a term of 70 years and will include 15 municipalities in the Primorye Territory, bordering China, Korea and Japan. The free port status will provide foreign visitors with visa-on-arrival for 8 days. Administrative, customs and tax benefits will also be given to investors, making Vladivostok the most preferential tax regime area in Russia.

In addition, a special game zone is being created in Vladivostok. It means that new hotels, casinos, shopping and entertainment centers will be built there soon.
